The artificiality of the mannequins visible in the photo, and the scene's actual complete stillness in the photographed setting, are neutralized by drawing them and their surroundings in pencil, equalizing them with their surroundings and warding off the real environment of the ethnographic exhibition being set up. Both the characters and the environment suddenly become equally real and artificial. The original narrative topples over: who is actually in charge of exhibiting here?

Durch Abzeichnung wird die im Foto sichtbare Künstlichkeit der Mannequins gegenüber der echten Umgebung der sich beim Aufbau befindenden Ausstellung neutralisiert.
